Services Australia - Mobile Service Centres (MSCs)

Services Australia mobile service centres (MSCs) travel around Australia, stopping to provide services in rural and regional communities in their custom-build, accessible trucks. They bring face-to-face Centrelink, Medicare, and Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) services directly to communities that would otherwise have to travel long distances.

Yarn, move, do is a reflective wellbeing resource created specifically for First Nations peoples, developed by LiveUp in partnership with Little Rocket, VAHS, VACCHO, and an Elder working group.

A new Brisbane City Council Age-Friendly initiative

As part of Brisbane City Councilโ€™s Age-Friendly initiative, they are working to establish 3โ€“5 Chatty Tables across the city, with Marhaba Cafรฉ being their first partner and launch site. The Chatty Cafรฉ Australia initiative is a simple but powerful concept, where a designated โ€œChatty Tableโ€ invites people to sit down, have a cuppa, and enjoy a friendly conversation. They are currently looking for a volunteer to help bring this space to life at Marhaba Cafรฉ.

New data reveals 17% volunteer shortage across Queensland

Media release Tuesday 19 May 2026. New data from Volunteering Queensland reveals a growing volunteer shortage across the state, with 1 in 6 volunteer roles currently vacant.โ€ฏThe latest snapshot from the statewide Volunteer-Involving Organisation (VIO) Register shows a 17% shortfall in capacity across more than 470 locations, highlighting increasing pressure on community services.
