Western Queensland PHN, in partnership with the Australian Government and key agencies, has launched the Central West Queensland (CWQ) Service Provider Directories. The service provider directories cover Barcaldine, Barcoo, Blackall Tambo, Boulia, Diamantina, Longreach, and Winton
The localised directories aim to make it easier for residents, carers, and service providers to access and connect with local healthcare, aged care, disability, and veterans’ services. They include both in-person and outreach services tailored to the specific needs of each community.
This initiative is part of a national trial, with Western Queensland PHN as one of six trial sites. It supports local communities to identifying their care needs, design sustainable solutions, and tailor services to better meet demand
The Directory of Community Education Providers previously called the Guest Speakers List, is a resource provided by UnitingCare Seniors Enquiry Line. It aims to connect those looking for guest speakers or organisations to host information sessions or present to their seniors/community groups.

Seniors Social Isolation Provider Community of Practice (SSIP-CoP)
The SSIP-CoP brings together Queensland Government-funded Seniors Social Isolation Services to strengthen their capability, share expertise, and improve outcomes for older people across Queensland.
Bi-monthly meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month from 2:00–3:00โฏpm (via Zoom) and feature invited speakers on topics aligned with sector priorities and COTA Queensland's social media plan.
Participation in the SSIP-CoP is actively encouraged as it supports providers to enhance service quality, implement best practice, and strengthen sector-wide capability, ultimately improving outcomes for older people. Providers are invited to present their experiences, innovations and best-practice approaches, contributing to shared learning and continuous improvement across the sector. Between sessions, the SSIP Hub provides an online space for ongoing collaboration, resource sharing, and discussion.
All CoPs are facilitated by Karen Wilson, Executive Officer, Seniors Social Isolation Peak Services Program and begin with an Acknowledgement of Country. To support accessibility and flexible participation, sessions are recorded and made available on the SSIP Hub within a month, along with brief notes to support reflection, ongoing discussion, and collaboration.
To accommodate varying work schedules, additional opportunities are offered throughout the year, generally on Thurdays from 12-1pm, as below:
| โLunch and Learn | Short, focused learning sessions based on provider-identified topics, offering training opportunities and practical insights to strengthen service delivery. |
| ๐ค๐ฟ Connect and Share | Interactive sessions led by SSI providers, designed to facilitate peer learning, knowledge exchange, and the sharing of ideas to support innovation and continuous improvement. |
