Moderation Policy

This Engagement Hub is moderated by Council on the Ageing (COTA) Queensland to ensure relevant non-offensive content is posted by registered users.
 
While we value your time in participating online and your contribution, moderation enables the site to be positively and constructively enjoyed by all participants. Content is screened prior to publishing on this website and may be screened after it has been published. If your published content receives legitimate objection, it will be unpublished and reviewed by the moderator. At any time, the moderator, at their sole discretion, can remove content that they deem unsatisfactory.
 
Additionally, a profanity filter is built into the software, disabling any attempt by a user to post content using offensive language.
Participants are encouraged to be thoroughly informed about the consultation’s subject, and the potential impacts and outcomes of the content they intend to write, prior to posting a comment. The most effective way to share your opinion is through constructive contributions.
 
The following behaviour will not be tolerated:

  • Direct complaints and/or defamatory comments about any Council on the Ageing (COTA) Queensland-related business, their employees or representatives

  • Engaging in conduct that vilifies or discriminates against any particular gender, religion, sexual preference, age, disability, marital or domestic status, race/ethnicity, criminal record or political opinion

  • Engaging in conduct or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offence or is otherwise illegal or unlawful

  • Disrespect for other participants' opinions and comments

  • Engaging in conduct that is fraudulent, deceptive or misleading including by impersonating or falsely representing any other person or organisation

  • Raising questions or issues unrelated to the site or the active consultation/s

  • Deliberately disrupt discussions (e.g. trolling)

  • Repeat comments continuously

  • Post excessively as this impedes the ability for others to utilise the selected page to communicate with COTA Queensland

  • Post irrelevant or excessively long material

  • Sharing of anyone’s personal information

  • The posting of embedded content or links to advertising, illegal or offensive information

 
There is no obligation on the moderator to notify you if your content has been deemed unsuitable for publishing.
 
A registered user who fails to meet these rules and the Terms of Use may be permanently banned from future use of the COTA Queensland Engagement Hub.
