COTA Queensland CHSP Provider Update
The Department has released the findings of the Commonwealth Home Support Program 2024 Wellness and Reablement Report, about Commonwealth Home Support Program providers’ progress towards embedding wellness and reablement approaches.
CHSP providers are required to report on wellness and reablement approaches in their service delivery practices through an online report each year. The results measure providers’ progress towards embedding wellness and reablement approaches. They also help the Department to understand the impact of service delivery approaches and identify what is working well and common challenges.
The report identifies successes, challenges, and areas for improvement to inform policy and support for providers. Results indicate that CHSP providers continue to embed wellness and reablement approaches in client care, with marked growth in clients participating alongside staff and a majority of providers reporting care plans for clients. However, some CHSP providers find it challenging to implement and sustain these practices.
