Falls remain one of the leading causes of injury and death for older Australians.
Preventing falls, harm from falls and maximising mobility to prevent functional decline for older people is an important focus of the strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.

The resources aim to improve the safety and quality of care for older people and offer a nationally consistent approach to preventing falls and harm from falls in community care settings. The fact sheet outlines recommendations for preventing falls in the community and at home as well as the major changes to the 2025 Falls Guidelines which were last revised 2009.
