Changes to Specialisation Verification

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission are currently updating the way Specialisation Verification applications are submitted.
From 20 October, applications will need to be submitted via the My Aged Care Service and Support Portal.
Applications under the current process had to be e submitted by 25 September by emailing MACspecialisation@health.gov.au.
No new applications or evidence will be accepted from 26 September to 19 October.
If you have an existing verification, you don't need to re-apply using the new process because it will remain valid until its expiry.

COTA Queensland is a member of the National Embedding Diversity and Inclusion Sector Support and Development Working Group which is keeping an eye on activities relating to the Diversity Framework and the Specialisation Verification Framework and Process. We are seeking further information from the Department and Commission, and will keep people in the loop when able. Please note, that for the Support at Home thin markets grant, Verification is part of the eligibility process. We encourage CHSP Providers to consider specialisation verification in line with their organisation's and communities need in providing appropriate and responsive care and support.
