The Transition of CHSP to the Support at Home Program
The Community Affairs References Committee is currently developing their report, with a new reporting date being 23 June 2026. Submissions are closed, and hearings have been held. See submissions and hearing reports online.
The Community Affairs References Committee is currently accepting submissions from providers and other interested parties. Submissions close 31 July 2026 and the Committee is due to provide their report on 24 November 2026. They are seeking comment on the ability for older Australians to access services to live safely and with dignity at home; the impact of the co-payment contributions for independent services and everyday living services on the financial security and wellbeing of older Australians; trends and impact of pricing mechanisms on consumers; the adequacy of the financial hardship assistance for older Australians facing financial difficulty; the impact on the residential aged care system, and hospitals; the impact on older Australians transitioning from the Home Care Packages Program; thin markets including those affected by geographic remoteness and population size; the impact on First Nations communities, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities; and any other related matters.
