    Provider registration resources and preview

All government-funded providers will need to be registered by the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission by 1 July. The Department of Health and Aged Care has released resources and guidance are available to help with this, including:

    • a Provider Handbook on how to apply to become a provider and the responsibilities of registered providers
    • videos on how to register and renew your registration, and how to change, suspend or revoke your registration
    • a Provider Registration Policy explaining the process and principles for registration
    • Provider Registration and Renewal in Practice webinar recording and slides
    • a short video about provider registration and the new regulatory model under the new Aged Care Act.

For more information, visit register and audit providers on the Commission’s website.

In April, they contacted providers about the provider registration preview. Your organisation should have received either your registration preview, or a declaration form to nominate a contact to receive this information. If your organisation has not yet received its provider registration preview, please contact the Department at AgedCareRegModel@health.gov.au.

    • If the information in the preview is correct, you do not need to do anything.
    • If it is incorrect, please update it by 1 June. Instructions for how to make updates were included in the email attachment.
