  • National Healthy Ageing Day - 6 May 2026

    On 6 May 2026, iLA will launch Australia’s first National Healthy Ageing Day, a national initiative that aims to:

    • Challenge outdated stereotypes about ageing
    • Promote positive, preventative health and wellbeing
    • Strengthen participation, connection and independence

    The theme “Keep doing what matters” highlights the actions, relationships and activities that help people stay engaged and live well at every stage of life.

    Organisations, workplaces and communities are encouraged to take part by:

    • Promoting National Healthy Ageing Day across websites, newsletters and social media
    • Encouraging staff, volunteers or community members to explore healthy ageing actions
    • Using free, readytouse resources and activity ideas

    National Healthy Ageing Day is led by iLA, a forpurpose organisation dedicated to empowering people and communities to live and age well, the day encourages practical, strengthsbased approaches to support independence, connection and everyday capability.
