COTA Queensland CHSP Provider Update
In 2024, Interim First Nations Aged Care Commissioner Andrea Kelly provided a report containing a series of recommendations on how the Government can improve aged care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This report was titled: Transforming Aged Care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. While Andrea is no longer in this role, she was a big supporter of CHSP, attending and speaking at many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community of Practice sessions facilitated by the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sector Support and Development Working Group. Andrea's successor - Jodi Cassar, is attending an upcoming meeting with the Working Group in August where we'll meet her for the first time.
