COTA Queensland CHSP Provider Update
Information provided by the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to SSD Providers for distribution. We understand that this information should have also been emailed directly to CHSP providers via DSS.
The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing recently advised CHSP providers, in the Your Aged Care Update of 23 June 2026, of the requirement to update their Responsible Persons information in GPMS.
The document below provides:
Please note: While the Your aged Care Update article advised providers must make sure their information is up to date in the Government Provider Management System (GPMS) by 31 July 2026, this is not a CHSP compliance related matter, and no CHSP compliance action will be taken if updates are not made by this time. However CHSP providers are reminded of this requirement and encouraged to take required actions as soon as possible.
The following information has been provided by MDS, a Sector Support and Development Provider. Thank you Janeen and Krystle
GPMS is the Departments platform that both the Department and Commission use.
The Commission informed MDS SSD directly, that CHSP had 6 months from the start of the new Aged Care Act 2025 to notify the Commission of the Responsible Persons, (which has passed), however the Commission is aware that CHSP providers are still engaging in this process, which is needed to be completed for Responsible Persons and Associated Providers (if applicable) to be added into GPMS.
Note 1: Organisations will not be able to ‘ensure the responsible persons and associated providers details are up to date within GPMS’ if they have not engaged in the Changes of Circumstances process yet. Once this process is done, it is then that organisations will then be able to edit some fields via the Organisation Tile (GPMS User Guides are available).
Note 2: The Commission is able to run reports in GPMS to view who has/hasn’t added their responsible persons and/or associated providers (if applicable).
Responsible Persons:
All registered providers, regardless of category or service type, must notify responsible persons to Commission, via the Changes of Circumstances process, they review each one’s suitability, before uploading/adding them into the GPMS.

Penalties for non-compliance include:
Associated Providers:
All registered providers in categories 4-6, must notify their associated providers to Commission via the Changes of Circumstances process.
Those in categories 1-3, must provide the information at re-registration time.
So, all providers must have robust record keeping of their associated providers. (MDS SSD are working with the Commission to potentially deliver another webinar on associated providers or at least a new factsheet on the record keeping and sharing component between providers that is still raising many questions).
CHSP Providers unsure or needing assistance?
