COTA Queensland CHSP Provider Update
The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) has released their report "Effectiveness of the Commonwealth Home Support Program.
Their audit process involved consulting with consumers, peak bodies and CHSP Providers, and looked at the Department's management of the program. The overall objective was to examine the effectiveness of CHSP.
The report indicates that CHSP is partly effective, with a weakness in the Department's administration of the program reducing its effectiveness.
ANAO provided nine recommendations to the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to improve planning, monitoring, stakeholder engagement, assurance, performance measurement and evaluation. The Department has agreed to all recommendations.
