COTA Queensland CHSP Provider Update
The Aged Care Volunteering Hub provides information, resources and guidance to strengthen volunteer-led services across the aged care sector. It includes practical tools, training resources, and best-practice information to support safe, meaningful and person-centred volunteering, for CHSP volunteers, volunteer coordinators and service providers.
The coordinator/provider component is structured around a volunteer management lifecycle with four key stages - Prepare, Recruit, Support, and Evaluate - each containing practical guides, toolkits, and links to best-practice resources. There's also a dedicated Reform & Compliance section covering the new Aged Care Act 2024, workforce screening requirements, and work health and safety obligations.
The volunteer component includes links to aged care volunteer opportunities across each state and territory, and stories from aged care volunteers.

COTA Queensland’s Sector Support and Development team believes every child has the right to be safe, to feel safe and to be protected from harm.
Guided by our organisation’s safeguarding framework, our team has completed a structured risk assessment of our sector-facing activities and undertaken targeted training to strengthen our ability to prevent, identify and respond to child abuse.
We are committed to acting promptly and appropriately if concerns are raised or disclosures occur, and to supporting safe practices across the sector.
