SERIES: Strengthening Aboriginal Cultural Capability in the Australian Aged Care Industry (5 Online Workshops)
This series of five online workshops will take you on journey of yarning and deep listening to strengthen your person-centred and culturally safe approaches when working with Aboriginal Elders.
Workshop One: Caring for our Elders because our Elders cared for us
Let's talk about the historical influences that impact First Nations Elders health and explore why it's important when caring for our Elders.

Workshop Two: ‘Closing the Gap’ reforms
Explore the National Agreement on ‘Closing the Gap’ and strengthen how it is implemented within an aged care setting.

Workshop Three: Working alongside our Elders
Increase your understanding of culturally safe holistic care and explore strategies for working with our Elders in Community Care settings.

Workshop Four: Understanding trauma when supporting our Elders
Increase your understanding of trauma that impacts our Elders and explore strategies to support Elders in their healing.

Workshop Five: Understanding grief and supporting healing for our Elders
Identify grief and loss experiences of our Elders and explore strategies to support Elders in their healing.

IMPORTANT WHEN REGISTERING: At registration, choose a ticket for each of the workshops you would like to attend. For example, If you would like to attend the entire series which includes all 5 workshops, purchase a package ticket for all 5 workshops. If you are only able to attend 4 of the 5 workshops, select and purchase individual tickets for each of the 4 workshops you are able to attend.
