New Aged Care Act – A Compliance Overview

For CHSP Board Members and Executive Leaders

With the new Aged Care Bill introduced to Parliament in September and currently in the process towards becoming Australian law, CHSP provider Board members and Executive Leaders will need to be across the key changes since the exposure draft was released earlier this year.

In this presentation, Anita will provide an overview of the following key changes of the new Aged Care Act:

  • Statutory Duty edits
  • Addition of ‘Supporters’
  • Whistleblower provisions
  • Statement of Rights edits
  • Code of Conduct compliance

There will be a 10-15 minute question and answer opportunity to ask Anita specific questions to support your organisation.

Facilitated by: Anita Courtney, Russell Kennedy Lawyers

Anita is Principal in Russell Kennedy’s aged care team and is a leading lawyer in the Aged Care Law area. She works exclusively in the aged care and NDIS regulatory compliance space, assisting aged care providers in both home care and residential care to comply with their responsibilities under the Aged Care Act 1997, deal with the regulators and manage complaints.
