Fellow Sector Support and Development Provider Central Coast & Hunter, are delivering a Collaborative Practice Workshop on 4 December.

This Workshop explores strategies to enable effective collaboration. It invites you to consider the value of collaboration, what collaborating is and how collaborating is different to informing, consulting, involving and empowering. It provides practical tools for facilitating collaborations. It will explore strategies to enable effective collaboration, inviting leaders to consider the value of collaboration, what collaborating is and how collaborating is different to informing, consulting, involving and empowering. We provide a series of practical tools for facilitating collaborations

Specific topics include:

  • Why collaboration is important in modern organisations and for your career
  • The benefits of collaboration
  • Collaboration definitions
  • Understanding when to collaborate and who to collaborate with
    • Levels of participation
    • Stakeholder mapping – Power, legitimacy, urgency
  • Tools for helping people to collaborate
    • Who to involve
    • Relationship building, role negotiation, climate setting, managing conflict
  • Define the goal: storytelling
  • Data gathering & diagnosis: limitations of open discussion, brainstorming, nominal group technique, convergent interviewing, increasing creativity and divergent thinking
  • Design the solution: information audit, two-votes one-vote, force field analysis, voting rounds, increasing consensus
  • Implement: action planning
  • Evaluation
