The Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) is currently undertaking a performance audit on the effectiveness of the CHSP.
The audit is examining 3 key questions:
The audit report will be presented for tabling in the Parliament in March 2026.
As part of the audit, the ANAO is seeking input from CHSP providers through a survey by Wednesday, 8 October.
Take this important opportunity to share your thoughts and experiences regarding CHSP to inform the audit report and potential recommendations made to the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing. You can complete the Provider Survey here.Note, this audit is not considering the aged care assessment process or the Support at Home program.
If you are reading this email post 8 October, please click on the link above to see if there's been an extension to the closing date.
The ANAO is also seeking input from members of the public by uploading a file or entering information online. Further details can be found on the ANAO website.
The ANAO anticipates that they will be accepting contributions from members of the public until Sunday 26 October 2025.
Please note, performance audits involve the independent and objective assessment of the administration of an entity or body’s programs, policies, projects or activities. They also examine how well administrative support systems operate. The ANAO does not have a role in commenting on the merits of government policy but focuses on assessing the efficient and effective implementation of government programs, including the achievement of their intended benefits.
We encourage you to complete this short survey.
