COTA Queensland CHSP Provider Update
The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) released a detailed report on 28 July which analyses date from 2023-24 in a unique way for the first time.
By linking the CHSP service group and aged care assessment data, AIHW was able to explore the characteristics and patterns of service use among first-time CHSP recipients. Linked data allows for an examination of person-level CHSP use, rather than activity-level CHSP use, which is usually reported.
The data shows, for example, that amongst first time CHSP recipients, 37% were born in non-English-speaking countries. It also shows that among people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background, the most commonly used services were everyday living (22%) and clinical support services (18%).
