COTA Queensland CHSP Provider Update
Get ready to strengthen your understanding of hoarding and environmental neglect, and build practical skills to respond safely and effectively in aged care settings.
📅Tuesday 2 June 2026
🕔 9:30 am to 12:30 pm AEST
📍Online
This practical workshop supports aged care professionals to better understand hoarding behaviours and environmental neglect, and how these impact the health, safety and wellbeing of older people. Participants will explore the complex emotional, psychological and environmental factors involved, and learn how to respond with empathy, confidence and appropriate risk management strategies.
Hoarding involves the persistent accumulation of items and difficulty discarding them, often creating unsafe living environments, while environmental neglect refers to unsanitary conditions that pose significant risks to health and safety.
Delegates will gain practical tools and insights to support people experiencing hoarding and environmental neglect, including:
CHSP providers, support workers, coordinators, and aged care professionals working directly with clients in home or community settings.
