Overview

June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month, and we invite you to join us for an important networking and information session focused on recognising and responding to elder abuse through the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS).

Bringing together aged care providers, quality and risk professionals, and advocacy stakeholders, this interactive session will strengthen understanding of elder abuse and build confidence in identifying, assessing and responding to concerns in practice.

Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with others across the sector, expand practical knowledge, and contribute to safer, more rights-focused outcomes for older Australians.

• Understanding elder abuse and its impact on older Australians
• Recognising indicators and risk factors of elder abuse
• Responding to concerns through the Serious Incident Response Scheme (SIRS)
• Practical approaches to assessment, reporting and follow-up
• Rights-based and person-centred responses
• Networking and knowledge sharing with sector professionals
