Overview

Volunteering is most rewarding when everyone understands their role and feels supported to contribute safely and confidently. This workshop explores the rights and responsibilities of volunteers, the importance of healthy boundaries, and how effective communication helps create positive experiences for both volunteers and the organisations they support.

You’ll gain a practical understanding of how to recognise and maintain appropriate boundaries, look after your own wellbeing, and communicate respectfully in a range of volunteering situations.

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

• Understand your rights and responsibilities as a volunteer
• Recognise the importance of healthy boundaries and why they matter
• Apply practical strategies for establishing and maintaining appropriate boundaries
• Communicate effectively and provide constructive feedback
• Reflect on common volunteering scenarios through discussion and shared learning
