Build your understanding of culturally safe ageing and aged care through this landmark national conference focused on strengthening outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and Older People.
๐
3–4 November 2026
๐Ngunnawal Country, Canberra ACT
The inaugural National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ageing and Aged Care Conference will bring together leaders, providers, community organisations, advocates and policymakers to explore the future of culturally safe, community-led aged care.
Centered around the theme “Ageing Our Way Through Culture, Connection, and Community”, the conference will create opportunities to strengthen partnerships, share knowledge and support reforms that improve ageing outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders and Older People.
The event comes at a significant time of national aged care reform and will focus on ensuring older First Nations peoples can age with dignity, cultural connection and strong community support.
Participants can expect discussions and presentations across a range of important topics, including:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander aged care providers, community-controlled organisations, aged care leaders, policymakers, health professionals, researchers, advocates, support services and organisations working alongside Elders and Older People.
Registration details to be announced.
National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Ageing and Aged Care Council (NATSIAACC) — the national peak body advocating for culturally safe, trauma-aware and healing-informed ageing and aged care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
