Overview
Practical information to assist CHSP Providers to meet the needs of older LGBTI Consumers.
What’s Covered
Council on the Ageing Queensland and Val’s LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care have partnered to deliver a workshop to CHSP Providers with an emphasis on practical information and opportunities for discussion, to assist providers to meet the needs of older LGBTI+ consumers.
The session aims to provide:
Val's is part of Rainbow Health Australia, at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at La Trobe University. Val’s is part of the national Sector Support and Development (SSD) program working to support Commonwealth Home Support Program service providers to understand and meet the needs of older lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans/transgender, and intersex people, or other sexual orientations or are gender diverse or bodily diverse (LGBTI+) people, and their aged care sector obligations in line with the new Aged Care Act. Val’s aims to empower and support service providers, building awareness, capability and commitment to provide rights-based, person-centred trauma aware care.
