COTA Queensland CHSP Provider Update
A conversation about how aged care can better respond to the diverse needs, experiences and strengths of older people living with disability.
📅 Wednesday 2nd December, 2026
🕐 12:00pm - 1:30pm QLD Time
📍 Online
Disability can be an important part of diversity in ageing. Whether life-long or acquired later, visible or hidden, diagnosed or un-diagnosed, disability can influence how people experience connection, independence, services and support throughout later life.
In this presentation and lived experience panel discussion, we will explore the role of disability in the ageing experience. Drawing on intersectional perspectives and an understanding of ableism and ageism, the discussion will examine how disability can interact with other aspects of identity and why acknowledging these experiences is critical to fostering inclusion, dignity and belonging in aged care.
CHSP Providers are invited to join us for a conversation about how aged care can better respond to the diverse needs, experiences and strengths of older people living with disability.

COTA Queensland’s Sector Support and Development team believes every child has the right to be safe, to feel safe and to be protected from harm.
Guided by our organisation’s safeguarding framework, our team has completed a structured risk assessment of our sector-facing activities and undertaken targeted training to strengthen our ability to prevent, identify and respond to child abuse.
We are committed to acting promptly and appropriately if concerns are raised or disclosures occur, and to supporting safe practices across the sector.
